You can opt-out the most things, but I guess the majority of the users are not and giving away their data for free to Google. Google tries to get as much data as possible. but if you don't believe me then read this: or this: or this: Sounding like a paranoid guy is talking BS. if you are using the Chrome sync feature. and of course they know your bookmarks, history, passwords. They know everything what you do in social deep web like Facebook, Reddit. They know what you are searching, even if you are not searching on Google itself. Google is monitoring your web browsing history through Chrome.

The real thing is: The business of Google is making money with data! They convert the data into insights/targets and that into online ads and that into a huge pile of money. The article looks mostly on the power of Google to direct web standards into their direction and they often did it in the past already.īut there is a second and much bigger problem with this situation I think Chrome is a great browser and it deserved to gain a huge share of the browser market. I am a Firefox user now again for some years. I realized I had fallen into the same thinking that got us in trouble in the early 2000's with IE. It's got me thinking that I need to give it more of a shot and consider more options. Further, it's actually faster than my own expectations about Chrome.
GIXEN FIREFOX ONLY DOWNLOAD
The download was a single step and his laptop installed and ran the browser with no problems. Thinking about the problem I decided to give Firefox a try. I tried to pull Chrome, but running setup would never complete because of his specs and connection (setup performs additional downloading). I very quickly discovered he has a shitty internet connection and his laptop is underpowered. I figured I would download Chrome and call it a day. My dad, who is in his 70's now, had to get a new laptop and was having trouble doing anything on the internet in Edge. Having said that though I had an interesting experience recently. I've been a Chrome user for forever, and given its usage stats and standards (driving) compliance I've been happy about that. Are you interested in promoting your own content? STOP!
